Say bye! ‘Conor Gallagher, of Chelsea, is being considered for a move to Tottenham Hotspur’

Conor Gallagher, a midfielder for Chelsea, is supposedly of interest to Tottenham Hotspur.

The 2022–23 season marked the return to the first team for the Chelsea academy graduate, who had previously spent time on loan at Swansea City, Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion, Charlton Athletic, and Chelsea.

In his rookie season with the senior squad, Gallagher appeared in 45 games and contributed to three goals and one assist.

Starting 19 of his 20 games this season, the 23-year-old has maintained his heavy involvement under Mauricio Pochettino.

Several times under Pochettino’s leadership, including Tuesday’s penalty shootout victory over Newcastle United in the EFL Cup quarterfinals, Gallagher has worn the captain’s armband.

There have been rumors that Gallagher, despite playing a pivotal role for Chelsea this season, could leave during the January transfer window.

No new contract for the midfielder is imminent, as he is now in the last 18 months of his present agreement.

To remedy their Financial Fair Play predicament, Chelsea are supposedly open to proposals in the new year, particularly if it means selling a product of their academy.

Tottenham, Chelsea’s London rivals, are reportedly considering a January deal for the midfielder.

Unfortunately, Chelsea’s decision against authorizing a summer departure meant that the planned transfer never came to fruition.

The signing of a new center back is Ange Postecoglou’s top goal for the upcoming January transfer window, but Spurs are reportedly interested in a midfielder owing to rumors surrounding Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Juventus of Italy have been linked with a transfer for the Denmark international, who has experienced a decline in his status this season.

It is presently unknown whether Chelsea would consider a proposal to trade Gallagher for Hojbjerg, although rumours have circulated that the two may feature in a potential move.

Even if Gallagher’s future is still up in the air, Pochettino has stated his intention to keep the player on staff.
