Dylan Dodd is slated to take the mound for the Braves in their regular-season finale against the Nationals on Sunday afternoon. Dodd is not currently on the active roster, so the team will need to make a procedural roster move on Sunday to accommodate his start.
Dodd is expected to pitch as long as possible before turning things over to the bullpen. Given that the Braves heavily utilized their main relievers, including Iglesias, Minter, Yates, and Johnson, during Saturday night’s game, it’s likely that other bullpen pitchers will see action on Sunday to stay sharp before the week-long break.
At 25 years old, Dodd has shuttled between Atlanta and Gwinnett throughout the season. While he enjoyed some early success, he faced tougher challenges in recent outings. His most recent major league appearance was on September 9th, where he conceded four runs on seven hits and issued three walks over four innings.
The Nationals will counter with Jackson Rutledge as their starting pitcher. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:10 p.m. ET at Truist Park.
