One of football’s most prestigious individual awards, the Golden Ball, garnered opinions from a small but diverse group of people in a recent onefootball survey. The survey included six participants, consisting of three players and three football celebrities. The results unveiled an overwhelming preference for Lionel Messi, with four out of six individuals selecting the Argentine superstar as their top choice.

 

Among the participants, Dybala, an accomplished player himself, confidently voiced his support for his compatriot, Messi. Davide Frattesi, an Italian player representing Inter Milan, ranked Messi as his top choice, followed by Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.

The survey also captured the opinions of football celebrities. Iranian personality Iran Ferreira and English celebrity Thogden both stood firmly behind Messi, recognizing his exceptional talent and undeniable impact on the game. However, it was the unexpected choice of Santiago Jimenez, a famous figure in the Mexican football network, that added an intriguing twist to the survey. Jimenez’s preference for a relatively lesser-known player highlighted the diversity of opinions within the football community.
