The Grizzlies reporter who the NBA stars can’t take their gaze off of is JA Morant, who is attempting not to

Many NBA players and fans have taken notice of KJ Wright, a reporter for the Memphis Grizzlies. Almost 120,000 people follow the journalist on Instagram, and it’s easy to see why: he or she covers the team solely from Memphis.

Not only has the journalist’s “” content—which includes beach photographs of exotic bikinis—attracted a lot of attention, but so have her photos taken as she reports from the sidelines during games.

Among NBA fans, her work has even become a bit of a meme. What fans call the “no look challenge” appears to be a recurring thread in the numerous images the reporter has posted featuring players from various teams, not just the Grizzlies.

People on social media have noticed that Wright’s colorful clothes can be distracting to the players she interviews. A recent post by JA Morant provides humorous evidence in support of that theory. Photos shared by the writer lately show the Grizzlies player receiving compliments on his “peak eye discipline” during interviews.

The comments section of Wright’s post is full of people who have complimented Morant on his “concentration.” “Brothers…. This is what peak eye discipline looks like,” was the comment of one user. “Ja trying really hard not to look,” someone else said. As one user put it, “These players can’t even look in your direction.” So did another.

It’s not limited to Morant. Similar criticisms appear in posts about other players, the majority of whom aren’t performing up to the Grizzlies player’s level of bravery.
