The King and The Viking! LeBron James uses an encouraging video to introduce Erling Haaland to the Beats brand

The King and the Viking: two names that, when put together, sound almost too good to be true.

While the life of a professional athlete may sound ideal, as LeBron James and Erling Haaland demonstrate in a new commercial for Beats by Dre headphones, it is far from ideal.

LeBron and Erling are motivated by Savannah James and Alfie Haaland.

In the video, James and Haaland meet while they are at various stages of their professions, yet they have many similarities. Haaland scored the most goals in a Premier League season in his rookie year, and James broke the NBA all-time scoring record in 2023. LeBron is an Akron native, while Erling is from the Norwegian village of Bryne.

They both use Beats headphones to drown out distractions and tune out the world while they search for inspiration to maintain their leadership positions. The entire time, LeBron listens to a message from his wife, Savannah James, that she had left for him on his headphones.

“It’s gаmedаy, аnd the’yre tаlking аgаin,” she explаins, befоre reiterаting her demаnds thаt he “stick аnd mоve,” “hit the оpen mаn,” аnd “tаke the high rоаd.”

Erling, meantime, is driven by his stern father, Alfie Haaland, a former player for Manchester City.

“They’re relentless,” he teaches, referring to the enemies. You’ve been dubbed “the Terminator” and “the Viking.” Putting you in a position where you can be easily destroyed.

Haaland also revealed his partnership with Beats by Dre, the company that has supposedly made LeBron $700 million as a result of his ownership stake, alongside the motivational video.

“Been waiting for this one!” What Haaland posted online. “Joined the @beatsbydre family and we’re kicking it off with our first campaign.”

Accоrding tо Bleacher Repоrt, James made arоund $30 milliоn when Apple purchased Beats fоr mоre than $3 billiоn in 2014, while Kendrick Perkins tоssed оut the $700 milliоn figure оn a pоdcast in 2020.

LeBron appears to have renewed drive as he prepares for his 21st NBA season, owing in part to Savannah, Bronny, and a 23-year-old viking from Norway.
