Former Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has found it difficult to earn a starting berth under Erik ten Hag since Manchester United chose to recruit Antony last summer.
United would have to go out and find a new winger if the current one decides to leave after only two years.
Here are three possible additions for United to make in January or the following summer.
Williams, Nico
The Spanish winger wоuld be a great pick up fоr оld Traffоrd’s right wing spоt. Williams, оnly 21 years оld, has already cоntributed tо twо gоals and twо assists this seasоn, making him an intriguing prоspect оn the right wing.
Williams’ six goals and four assists for Athletic Bilbao last season are evidence of his speed, dribbling ability, and ability to create for his teammates.
Williams’ current deal with the Basque club is slated to expire in the summer of 2019, but Estadio Deportivo reports that the winger is close to signing a new deal.
He would be available in the future, though, because the proposed new contract would have a break clause allowing him to leave after the second year of the term for a set fee.
Pedrito Nez
The club should have considered Wolves’ Pedro Neto as an alternative to signing Antony. The Portuguese winger has been unable to contribute due to major injuries that have prevented him from playing in the Premier League.
United should seriously consider pursuing the Portuguese winger despite interest from other teams after his impressive start to the season.
The winger has been a hazardous source of creativity for the Red Devils, as evidenced by his 14 passes into the penalty area this season, as reported by FBREF.
Neto has contributed to six goals and one assist in just eight Premier League games this season, and he could be available for a reasonable price due to Wolves’ financial difficulties, which led to Julen Lopotegui’s resignation as manager.
Said: Antonio Nusa
The third and final choice, Antonio Nusa, is a bit out there. United may be the most likely destination for the Norwegian striker, given their history of rumors involving the club.
The 18-year-old has already scored twice and assisted twice for Club Brugge, and he is expected to leave Belgium soon.
While a deal for the young forward may be difficult, he would be significantly less expensive than the other choices on this list, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The winger is fearless when it comes to dribbling and attacking, unlike Sancho and Antony. And at age 18, he has the potential to develop into a top-tier attacking player while working with Ten Hag.
