To play with the greatest of all time, one of Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami colleagues would go to tremendous measures.
During the summer, Messi departed Paris Saint-Germain to sign with David Beckham’s Inter Miami team.
He relocated to the United States and ended his career in Europe. Since then, he has lit up the DRV PNK Stadium, creating magical moments and assisting his team in winning the League Cup.
Facundo Farías, another Argentine who signed with Inter Miami this year, needed his wife’s OK before relocating to the Florida-based team.
The 21-year-old claimed in an interview with The Athletic that while his wife was enrolled in college, she was compelled to drop out in order for him to play beside the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner.
He spoke of his wife, saying, “She was studying her major, but we had to move here.” “She intended to murder me!
“But I told her, ‘We’re going to play with Messi!'”
Before he teamed up with Messi and company, Farias had never left Argentina.
He left his small Santa Fe hamlet, where he used to play football barefoot.
“We didn’t want to ruin our shoes, so we played in our bare feet,” he continued.
The attacking midfield player also talked about his family’s devotion to him, mentioning that his grandfather and mother would always go to his games.
“My mom was by my side no matter what… As a young child, love was all around me. I always went to my games with my mom and my grandfather,” he remarked.
“My whole family has been a pillar of strength for me.”
