Former Manchester United teammate Bruno Fernandes and David Gea got together to model the new uniforms for Gea’s eSports squad.

The Spanish goalkeeper, whose contract with United ended at the conclusion of the 2022-23 season, recently posted a selfie of himself and his former teammate Fernandes to Instagram. De Gea, 32, captioned a photo of the two of them in the new club uniform, “Together again.”

The former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper started the Rebels Gaming eSports organization in 2021. The group has competed in a wide variety of tournaments, such as League of Legends, Rainbow Six Seige, and Valorant. Both Fernandes and Juan Mata, a former midfielder for United, joined the company as shareholders in 2022. Rebels Gaming’s newest launch kit is called “The Red Spike,” and it will reportedly sell for roughly £48 upon sale.After failed transfer talks with Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Saudi Pro League clubs, the 32-year-old is still a free agent. If De Gea doesn’t get an offer to be the starting goalkeeper at a big club in the next few weeks, there have been rumors that he may retire from football.

After 12 years with the Red Devils and at Old Trafford, De Gea, 32, left in July. The Spaniard’s £375,000 contract had expired after he had made 545 appearances for the club since his 2011 transfer from Atletico Madrid.Some United players were outraged by the way the club handled De Gea, a popular character in the locker room. Last year he won the Golden Glove, and his replacement, Andre Onana, has had a rough go of it since being brought in from Inter Milan.

De Gea has been back with an old United teammate, Fernandes, for four months now. They captioned the photo with “together again” and posted it to Instagram while wearing Rebel Gaming shirts. Esports squad Rebel Gaming was created by De Gea.Since leaving Manchester United, De Gea has remained a free agent. It was rumored last month that if De Gea does not receive an offer to become the first-choice goalkeeper at a “major” club, he may retire unexpectedly. He turned down multiple offers and in the summer was widely speculated to be moving to Saudi Arabia.
