With the Chiron Sport, Bugatti has brought a more powerful iteration of the Chiron to the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The Chiron Sport, seen here in a menacing red and black paint scheme, is designed to be a superior performer and more driver-focused vehicle on the racetrack. The enormous 8.0-liter W16 engine, which continues to produce 1,479 horsepower, is absent from it. It also doesn’t have a quicker 0–60 mph time or a higher top speed. Rather, by utilizing lighter wheels and more incredibly light carbon fiber parts, such as a carbon fiber windscreen wiper, Bugatti has reduced the weight by forty pounds. Weighing 77% less than the conventional car, Bugatti claims it’s a first for production cars.
More track-focused suspension tuning has been done by Bugatti. On the Chiron Sport, the dampers are 10% firmer than usual. Along with the modified rear differential, which now includes a torque vectoring capability to increase on-throttle adjustability, the steering has also been upgraded. With all the modifications, Bugatti says the Chiron Sport can now lap the handling circuit at Nardo faster by five seconds. Regarding aesthetic modifications, the Chiron Sport’s front end is offered in a small range of colors, such as silver, blue, red, and dark grey. Some minor changes have also been made to the interior, which now has a darker theme than the base model. Starting at 2.65 million euros (about $3.28 million USD), the Chiron Sport is priced.
