Three clubs set to compete for Mike Maignan: Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain

After joining the Rossoneri from Lille in the summer of 2021, the 28-year-old has became the first-choice goalkeeper for the Italian club, appearing in 85 games.

Maignan and the rest of Stefano Pioli’s squad have had a consistent start to the season, and they are now in third place in the league, six points behind Inter Milan.

This kid, who made his debut for France in May 2019, has already earned 13 caps and has surpassed Hugo Lloris as the team’s starting goalkeeper.

Several prominent European clubs are reportedly interested in signing goalie Maignan soon, according to Italian news site Foot Mercato.

AC and the goalkeeper are in the process of finalizing new terms, but Maignan’s current contract with Milan will end in the summer of 2026.

Following an outstanding 2022–23 season with the Rossoneri, the 28-year-old is now seeking a substantial wage rise to acknowledge his remarkable growth since arriving from Lille more than two years ago.

As far as anyone knows, the player and the San Siro club are still at odds in their negotiations, which are reportedly going well.

On the off chance that an agreement cannot be reached, Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils and others are ready to pounce on Maignan’s services.United spent much of the summer trying to fill the void left by goalkeeper David de Gea, who departed Old Trafford as a free agent after more than a decade with the Red Devils.

Even though the 27-year-old Cameroon international Andre Onana moved to Old Trafford from Inter for almost £50 million in July, he has made a number of high-profile mistakes this season.

It is said that AC Milan would ask for around €70 million (£60 million) to sell Maignan either in the summer transfer window or in the new year.

Despite signing Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic in preparation for the 2023-24 season, Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea are reportedly interested in the Frenchman as well.

Before taking on Atalanta BC in Serie A on Saturday, Maignan and the rest of Milan’s squad know they must win next Tuesday at St. James’ Park against Newcastle United if they are to have any hope of advancing to the Champions League knockout stages.
